At 10:00 am on 29 March, the CHN Energy Group's 101MW/205MWh Multi form Composite Energy Storage Demonstration Project officially began construction!
This is a science and technology project approved by the CHN Energy Group and is one of the major original technology source projects of the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Among them, the "4MW/1MWh Magnetic Suspension Flywheel Energy Storage Project" has been selected as a new energy storage pilot demonstration project by the National Energy Administration and the first (set) major technological equipment in the energy field of Shandong Province. It is the world's largest power-level flywheel energy storage single-machine product; it can respond to power system regulation needs in milliseconds.
This is the energy storage project that has demonstrated most types of new energy storage technologies in China. It is the first to explore the use of intelligent regulation technology under the conditions of the electricity spot market to highly coordinate four new energy storage technologies: lithium iron phosphate, vanadium flow, sodium ion, and flywheel, and participate in power auxiliary services.
After the completion of the project, utilizing its flexible and fast power generation regulation characteristics, it can effectively suppress the fluctuation characteristics of new energy generation output, such as wind power and photovoltaics, and participate in grid peak shaving. At the same time, it has good environmental benefits. It can effectively reduce coal consumption, reduce emissions of harmful gases such as CO, CmHn, NOx, SO2, etc., and help enterprises achieve sustainable development. It will play an important leading and promoting role in the high-quality development of the energy storage industry in Shandong Province and provide important support for building a new type of power system mainly based on new energy sources.
