On 27 March, Longling County signed a cooperation agreement for a CNY 2 billion vanadium flow battery energy storage power station and equipment manufacturing project, underscoring continued momentum in China’s renewable energy development. The signing ceremony, held in Longling County, brought together government officials and industry representatives, including leaders from the Baoshan Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau and other local authorities, as well as representatives from Taize Yieneng (Baoshan) Technology Co., Ltd. and partner enterprises.

The project supports China’s “dual carbon” strategy and aligns with Yunnan Province’s broader efforts to expand its emerging energy storage sector. It comprises two main components:

  • Construction of a vanadium flow battery energy storage power station
  • Development of a supporting energy storage system equipment manufacturing base

Local authorities have designated the project as a priority, committing to comprehensive support, streamlined implementation, and accelerated timelines from construction through to operation, with the aim of fostering a stable and investor-friendly environment.

The agreement was formally signed between the Longling Industrial Park Administrative Committee and Taize Yieneng (Baoshan) Technology Co., Ltd. Additional participating organizations included the Southwest Branch of China National Coal Group Corporation, Kaifeng Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and China Construction Fourth Engineering Division Sichuan Construction Engineering Company.

With a total investment of ¥2 billion, the project marks a major breakthrough for Longling County in the field of advanced energy storage. It is expected to significantly boost local industrial transformation, strengthen the green energy sector, and contribute to high-quality economic and social development in the region.
