Enerflow Signs 1.2 GWh Long-Duration Energy Storage Cooperation in Australia

Enerflow Technology Co., Ltd. (Enerflow) has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Australian firm JENMI INVESTMENTS PTY LTD to jointly develop the market for vanadium flow battery energy storage systems and electrolyte in Australia, including a planned 350 MW / 1,200 MWh large-scale energy storage project.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work together on project development, system deployment and long-term technical cooperation, aiming to accelerate the application of safe, long-duration vanadium flow battery energy storage in Australia’s power and infrastructure sectors.
JENMI INVESTMENTS brings extensive local resources and project experience in Australian infrastructure, including strong capabilities in project development, permitting and local coordination. Enerflow focuses on the research, development and manufacturing of long-duration energy storage systems, with full value-chain delivery capabilities from materials and electrolyte through to stacks, systems and control. The company can provide fully customised solutions for different application scenarios, covering stack configuration, system integration and control strategies.
In addition to the new cooperation in Australia, Enerflow’s self-developed 125 kW / 500 kWh hydrochloric-acid-based vanadium flow battery energy storage system has been selected for inclusion in the National Catalogue of Recommended Energy-Saving and Carbon-Reduction Technologies and Equipment for the Industrial and Information Technology Sector (2025 Edition) in China.
The 125 kW / 500 kWh system:
- Supports 4 hours of continuous discharge, making it well-suited to long-duration storage needs.
- Uses a water-based electrolyte, meeting stringent safety requirements for industrial parks and other infrastructure-intensive sites.
- Features recyclable electrolyte with high chemical stability, effectively suppressing hydrogen evolution to reduce material consumption and operation & maintenance costs.
- Delivers a cycle life of more than 25,000 cycles and a coulombic efficiency of 95%, reducing charge–discharge losses and helping maximise the utilisation of green electricity.
Through this cooperation with JENMI INVESTMENTS, Enerflow aims to bring its proven long-duration, high-safety vanadium flow battery technology to the Australian market, supporting the large-scale integration of renewable energy and contributing to global energy saving and carbon reduction efforts.
