Jiangsu Gaoyou Economic Development Zone today announced the signing of a major investment agreement with Zhejiang Furui Juneng Technology Co., Ltd. for the development of a RMB 2 billion vanadium flow battery (VFB) full-industry-chain project.
The signing ceremony marks a significant step in advancing long-duration energy storage capabilities in the region. Zhejiang Furui Juneng, a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, manufacturing, and application of vanadium flow batteries, will leverage its core VFB technologies to establish a comprehensive intelligent manufacturing system.

Building a Fully Integrated Industry Chain
The project will focus on creating an end-to-end industrial ecosystem covering:
- Electrolyte production
- Stack (battery cell) materials
- System integration
Through this integrated approach, the company aims to establish a vertically aligned structure spanning “materials – components – stacks – systems.” The initiative is designed to strengthen independent R&D and enable large-scale manufacturing while reducing reliance on externally sourced core components.
Driving Cost Efficiency and Market Expansion
By implementing a unified industry-chain layout, Zhejiang Furui Juneng expects to reduce overall supply chain costs by 15%–20%, enhancing competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. The facility will target the rapidly growing demand for large-scale, long-duration energy storage solutions, a critical enabler of renewable energy integration and grid stability.
Supporting Clean Energy Development
Officials from Gaoyou Economic Development Zone emphasized that the project aligns with regional strategies to accelerate the development of advanced energy storage technologies and promote high-quality industrial growth.
Vanadium flow batteries are increasingly recognized for their:
- Long cycle life
- High safety profile
- Scalability for grid-level storage
- Suitability for renewable energy applications
