The Manufacture and Properties of As-Rolled V -Containing Structural Steels
Abstract:
This paper describes the features of V-microalloying in relation to the other principal microalloying elements. The significance ofN in V-steels is particularly underlined. The relationships between relevant processing parameters and the mechanical properties of V-microalloyed structural steels in the as-rolled condition are addressed. Applications of the V-microalloying technology are exemplified in steels for plate, strips and long products and forgings. The effect of N on the weldability of V-steels is discussed. It is shown that good weldability can be achieved by careful selection of microalloying and welding parameters.
