On 6 May 2025, Zhonglou District in Changzhou, China held a landmark New Energy Industry Cooperation Conference, culminating in the signing of a major 100MW/400MWh independent grid-side energy storage project based on cutting-edge vanadium flow battery technology.

This high-impact project, with a total investment of 1.8 billion RMB, represents a significant step forward in the district’s green energy transition and will serve as a flagship example of scalable, long-duration energy storage. Featuring globally advanced vanadium redox flow batteries, the system offers a 20,000-cycle lifespan and over 80% energy conversion efficiency. Once operational within 12 months, the station will enable four hours of continuous peak shaving and annual integration of over 500 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity.
