The China Pingmei Shenma Group held a groundbreaking ceremony on 11 November for its latest venture, a 10MW/60MWh vanadium flow battery energy storage project. The project, situated at the Shenma Tire Cord Development Company site in Pingdingshan, represents a significant milestone for the Group’s foray into renewable energy and energy storage infrastructure, an initiative in collaboration with the Henan Construction Group.

With a total investment of RMB 196.2 million, this cutting-edge vanadium flow battery project boasts a total installed capacity of 10MW/60MWh. It aims to leverage energy storage for peak-shaving and load-balancing capabilities, ensuring a consistent green power supply around the clock.
Upon completion, the energy storage facility will not only enhance grid reliability and renewable energy utilization but also improve load management and frequency regulation of the power system. This facility marks a step toward establishing a "clean, low-carbon, safe, flexible, and intelligent" power system that aligns with national green energy goals. The project will help reduce electricity costs for local enterprises, support green and low-carbon industrial transformation, and contribute to the economic growth and sustainable development of the local community.
