Dalian Borong Commences Phase II Production, Becoming the World’s Largest Vanadium Electrolyte Manufacturer

Dalian, China –, 2025 – Dalian Borong New Materials Limited Company has officially commenced production on the second phase of its vanadium electrolyte production line, marking a significant milestone in the global energy storage industry.
The Phase II project, spanning approximately 70,000 square meters with a building area of 30,000 square meters, boasts an annual production capacity of 90,000 cubic meters of vanadium electrolyte. Construction began in July 2023, with trial operations initiated in December 2024. Following successful commissioning, the new production line is now fully operational, bringing Dalian Borong’s total annual capacity to 150,000 cubic meters, solidifying its position as the world’s largest vanadium electrolyte producer.

Vanadium electrolyte is a crucial component of vanadium flow batteries (VFBs), constituting nearly half of the total battery system cost. As the VFB sector experiences rapid growth, a stable supply of high-quality vanadium electrolyte is essential for industry expansion and efficiency. The enhanced production capacity at Dalian Borong will provide a significant boost to the vanadium flow battery industry, ensuring supply security and supporting large-scale commercialization.
With nearly 30 years of expertise in the research, development, and production of high-performance vanadium chemicals and deep-processing vanadium products, Dalian Borong has been a pioneer in industrial-scale vanadium electrolyte production.
