Guihua Energy Group has officially signed an agreement with Heyang County, Weinan City, to develop an 80MW/320MWh vanadium flow battery (VFB) energy storage station. The signing took place on 21 May during the Weinan City Industrial Empowerment and Win-Win Cooperation Promotion Conference, held as part of the 9th Silk Road International Exposition in Xi’an, China.

With a total investment of RMB 900 million (approximately USD 125 million), this marks one of the largest vanadium flow battery energy storage projects in Shaanxi Province to date. The facility is designed to address the regional gap in long-duration energy storage technologies and support a more resilient and sustainable energy system.

Guihua Energy’s strategic commitment to energy innovation and sustainable development is strongly demonstrated through this high-impact investment. The project is expected to play a crucial role in accelerating the region’s energy transition and fostering high-quality growth in China’s new energy sector.
