Goldwind Signs Agreement for 100MW/400MWh Vanadium Flow Battery Storage Project in Jiuzhaigou

On April 23, 2025, the "World Jiuzhaigou, Beautiful Aba" Beijing Investment Promotion Conference and Project Signing Ceremony, hosted by the People's Government of Aba Prefecture, was held in Beijing. During the event, Jiuzhaigou County and Beijing Goldwind Zero Carbon Energy Co., Ltd. (Goldwind) signed a landmark agreement for a major clean energy storage project.
As a highlight of the event, Jiuzhaigou County unveiled six key investment initiatives centered on the theme "Empowering Ecology, Rising Green." Among them, the agreement with Goldwind marks a significant milestone in the region’s drive to integrate ecological protection with green economic development.
The independent energy storage project, with a total investment of RMB 460 million, will deploy state-of-the-art vanadium flow battery technology. The planned facility in the Jiumian Industrial Park will feature a 100MW/400MWh capacity, capable of delivering over 200 million kilowatt-hours of peak-shaving energy annually and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 180,000 tons each year. Upon completion, the project will help alleviate seasonal fluctuations in hydropower supply and provide reliable energy for Jiuzhaigou’s smart tourism and green industry sectors, supporting the county's ambition to build a “zero-carbon scenic area.”
