Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks Launch of Vanadium Flow Battery Energy Storage Industry Chain Demonstration Base in Shuangyashan, Heilongjiang

The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Vanadium Flow Battery Energy Storage Full Industry Chain Demonstration Base Project was held on 17 April at the Shuangyashan Economic Development Zone in Heilongjiang Province. This event marked the comprehensive start of key industrial projects in Shuangyashan for 2025.
Attended by city leaders and key stakeholders, the ceremony featured remarks from Gong Zhenjiang, Mayor of Shuangyashan, who extended congratulations on behalf of the city government. "By leveraging our abundant vanadium resources and strong industrial foundation, Shuangyashan is accelerating the development of an innovation-driven base for vanadium flow battery materials," Gong stated. He emphasized the city's commitment to strengthening supply chains, extending industry chains, and enhancing value chains.
The demonstration base is the result of a strategic collaboration between Dalian Rongke Power Co., Ltd. and Heilongjiang Jianlong Steel Co., Ltd. On 13 July 2024, the two companies signed a partnership agreement to jointly establish Heilongjiang Rongxiang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., aiming to bolster the development of vanadium electrolyte production in the region.
This groundbreaking follows the August 2023 signing of a comprehensive industry chain cooperation framework agreement between the Shuangyashan Municipal Government, Heilongjiang Jianlong Steel Co., Ltd., and Dalian Rongke Power Co., Ltd. The initiative, which includes the construction of a vanadium flow battery manufacturing project with a total investment of RMB 3.5 billion, represents a major step forward in Heilongjiang’s energy storage ambitions.
