Groundbreaking of 100MW/600MWh Vanadium Flow Battery R&D and Manufacturing Base

September 11, 2024 – The groundbreaking ceremony for the 100MW/600MWh Vanadium Flow Battery Research and Development (R&D) and Manufacturing Base, led by Shaanxi Chuan Cheng Energy Technology Co., Ltd., took place on September 10, 2024, in Jinghe New City of Xixian New Area, Jingyang County, Xianyang City.
The new base will have state-of-the-art research laboratories and production lines for vanadium flow batteries. It will cover the entire spectrum of product development, including core components of the battery stack, fully assembled battery systems, and comprehensive energy storage solutions. The project is expected to be fully operational by the first half of 2025, with an annual production capacity of 100MW/600MWh. Once completed, the base will generate an annual revenue of 1.59 billion yuan, providing a strong boost to local green industries and sustainable development.
Shaanxi Chuan Cheng Energy Technology Co., Ltd., established in 2017 with a registered capital of 150 million yuan, has a strong presence in three major business areas: commodity trade, asset investment, and new energy development. The company's new energy division focuses on providing solutions in photovoltaic and wind power generation, virtual power plants, green certificates, green electricity trading, and carbon asset management. Through its independently developed vanadium flow energy storage technology, Chuan Cheng Energy aims to build a full industrial chain for vanadium flow battery energy storage, offering scalable and traceable green energy solutions for businesses, industrial parks, charging stations, and microgrid systems.
A representative from the Jinghe New City Double Carbon Photovoltaic Industry Park Development Center remarked, "Energy storage technology is crucial to the development of the new city's green energy sector. This project will help restructure the local energy supply chain and significantly reduce carbon emissions, injecting new vitality into the region's energy storage industry."
