Guangdong Zhongke Tianshang Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has officially announced plans to build a large-scale hybrid standalone energy storage facility adjacent to the Kebei Substation in Xinlong Town, Huangpu District, Guangzhou. The total investment for the project is RMB 555 million.

Strategically located south of Kebei Substation and west of the Huaguan Expressway, the project—named the "Grid Stabilization Energy Storage System"—is designed to enhance grid stability and support frequency regulation and peak shaving. With a total installed capacity of 201MW/406MWh, the facility will comprise:

  • 200MW/400MWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries
  • 1MW/6MWh of vanadium flow batteries

The infrastructure will include energy storage battery containers, PCS (Power Conversion System) containers, and various supporting facilities. The system is designed to deliver three hours of continuous full-power discharge, adhering to national and industry technical standards.

The project is scheduled to commence on October 1, 2025, with completion targeted for July 1, 2026.

This initiative underscores Guangdong Zhongke Tianshang Energy’s commitment to advancing innovative and diversified energy storage solutions in support of China’s energy transition and grid modernization goals.
