Hanxiang Huanneng (Shenzhen) Holdings Co., Ltd., through its subsidiary Linzhou Fengyuan Energy Storage Co., Ltd., has entered into a strategic collaboration with Henan Top Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. to develop an innovative energy storage project. This partnership marks the launch of the Linzhou Fengyuan 300MW/1000MWh independent and shared energy storage station, representing a significant milestone in the energy storage industry.

The project, with a total investment of ¥1.79 billion, will feature cutting-edge energy storage technologies:

200MW/400MWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Battery Energy Storage System: This system consists of multiple battery units, each with a single-cell capacity of at least 314Ah and a nominal system capacity of 5MWh. It employs advanced liquid cooling technology for optimal performance and reliability.

100MW/600MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) Energy Storage System: This system is built from multiple 42kW stack units, each offering an energy storage capacity of 500kWh. Key technical specifications include a cycle life of ≥ 3,000 cycles, the ability to maintain ≥ 90% of rated power output even in case of single or multiple stack unit failures, a charge/discharge efficiency of ≥ 85%, compliance with industry standards for energy density, a response time of under 30 seconds, and a design lifespan of ≥ 20 years.

The infrastructure will include a 220kV step-up substation, transmission lines, a centralized control center, and a multi-story steel-structured operations facility with a total building area of 5,000 square meters.

The signing ceremony, held on 3 December 2024, symbolizes the commitment of Hanxiang Huanneng and Henan Top Consulting to foster groundbreaking advancements in energy storage solutions. Together, the companies aim to establish the Linzhou Fengyuan Energy Storage Project as a benchmark for China's energy storage sector, contributing to sustainable development and innovation.
