Investment of 3.627 Billion Yuan! Two Vanadium Flow Battery Projects Signed in Yongren County

On 26 January 2025, Juhé Energy Storage successfully signed an agreement with Yongren County and Chuxiong Jinjiang Energy Group Co., Ltd. for two major vanadium flow battery storage projects. The projects include a 500MW/2GWh vanadium flow battery system integration production line and a 300MW/1200MWh vanadium flow battery storage power station, with a total investment of approximately 3.627 billion yuan. This agreement marks the official launch of deep cooperation in the field of new energy storage, providing a significant boost to energy transformation and regional economic development.
Key Project Details:
500MW/2GWh Vanadium Flow Battery System Integration Production Line
- Total Investment: 245 million yuan
- Construction Period: Estimated 12 months
- Objective: Establish an annual production capacity of 500MW/2GWh for vanadium flow battery storage systems
- Impact: This production line will significantly enhance the production capacity of vanadium flow storage systems, promote large-scale application of energy storage products, and strengthen the entire industrial supply chain.
300MW/1200MWh Vanadium Flow Battery Storage Power Station
- Total Investment: 3.382 billion yuan
- Capacity: Installation of 600 vanadium flow battery container systems
- Operational Period: 25 years
- Annual Power Output: 360 million kWh
- Significance: This project will play a crucial role in building a stable, efficient, and green energy system in Yongren County. It will improve the stability and reliability of the local power grid, support the transition to renewable energy, and contribute to China’s "dual-carbon" goals.
Industry and Government Endorsement
Wang Qinggao, Assistant General Manager of Chuxiong Jinjiang Energy Group, stated: "Once completed, this project will be the largest vanadium flow battery energy storage station in Yunnan. When both the storage station and production line reach full operation, the estimated annual output value will reach 4.3 billion yuan, with tax contributions of 250 million yuan, creating over 200 local job opportunities."
Zhou Wentao, Director of the Yongren County Development and Reform Bureau, emphasized the county’s commitment: "We will provide full-scale ‘nanny-style’ services to ensure project success, delivering essential support in policy, infrastructure, and operations. Our goal is to set a new benchmark in independent energy storage station construction."
