Sichuan Development Xingneng to Build the Largest Vanadium Electrolyte Production Base in China
September 16, 2024 – In a significant step towards establishing Panzhihua as "China's Vanadium Capital," the Vanadium Titanium High-Tech Zone Administration Committee and Sichuan Development Xingneng Vanadium Energy Technology Co., Ltd. have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Sichuan Development Xingneng will invest in the construction of a state-of-the-art vanadium electrolyte production line with an annual capacity of 120,000 cubic meters, positioning it as the largest such facility in the country.

Sichuan Development Xingneng, a subsidiary of Sichuan Development Holding Co., Ltd., specializes in the research, development, production, and sale of vanadium flow battery technology. The company inherits advanced vanadium electrolyte research from the Tranvic Group, which includes a number of patents and core technologies. The new facility will further its goal of becoming a leader in China's vanadium electrolyte production industry.
This investment is part of the Vanadium Titanium High-Tech Zone's broader strategy to drive industrial growth and support emerging industries. Over the years, the zone has successfully attracted major enterprises such as China Power Investment's 100MW/500MWh vanadium flow battery energy storage station and "Pangang Electrolyte Company's 2,000 cubic meter per year vanadium electrolyte project. These developments have helped build a full industry chain that includes high-purity vanadium products, vanadium electrolyte production, vanadium battery systems, and energy storage stations.
Sichuan Development's executives have expressed enthusiasm for this strategic partnership, emphasizing the strong support and collaboration received from the Panzhihua municipal government. Together, they aim to build a complete vanadium-based industrial chain, from resource extraction to final product application, contributing to high-quality growth in the vanadium industry.
This project also supports Sichuan Province's larger goals of carbon neutrality and industrial modernization. By establishing a leading vanadium battery industry base, the collaboration will boost regional development and support national efforts to achieve carbon peak and neutrality goals.
The Vanadium Titanium High-Tech Zone is committed to providing comprehensive services throughout the entire lifecycle of the project to ensure it is completed swiftly, with construction, production, and operation progressing on schedule. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in transforming Panzhihua into a hub for vanadium battery technology and innovation.
