On 8 May, the first "Long Duration Energy Storage" project in the province, the 500 kW/5 MW vanadium flow battery energy storage power station of Hangzhou Yifengge Clothing Co., Ltd. (eifini), completed by Zhejiang Dayou Industrial Linping Branch, was officially connected to the Grid and put into operation. This project uses vanadium flow batteries, equivalent to a safe, reliable, and advanced giant green "power bank" that can provide the enterprise with continuous electricity demand for up to 4-10 hours. After being connected to the Grid, it can also continuously deliver electricity to the Grid for 4-10 hours, helping the Grid to go through the load pressure of peak power consumption smoothly. This provides a more economical and efficient energy solution model for high-energy-consuming enterprises and meets the needs for long-term stable operation of the power system.

It is reported that the total investment in the energy storage power station is more than 14 million yuan, covering an area of about 190 square meters, and the annual energy storage capacity is about 1 million kilowatt hours. "Long duration energy storage" means that the energy storage power station has a long duration of continuous discharge. With the same capacity, such as 1 megawatt, a lithium battery can only discharge for 2 hours, while eifini vanadium flow battery can discharge for 10 hours. This means that, basically, during the day, users can almost not occupy the transformer capacity and rely entirely on energy storage to discharge electricity for production. The vanadium flow batteries selected in this project do not have the problems of thermal runaway and short circuits in lithium batteries. Compared with traditional lithium batteries, it has the characteristics of safety, reliability, environmental protection and long service life. It is more suitable for the safety energy storage requirements in the eifini factory. It has enormous potential to solve the contradiction between power supply and demand, improve energy utilization efficiency, and reduce environmental pollution. At the same time, this project is the first user-side energy storage project with meters installed by Hangzhou Power Supply Company. By installing meters, real-time data on the energy storage situation of the energy storage station can be uploaded to the system of State Grid Corporation of China, monitoring the operation of user-side energy storage, cooperating with the load demand of the power grid to charge and discharge the energy storage station, improving the coordination and control of user side resources. Users can flexibly aggregate and participate in the electricity market, promoting the scientific, healthy, and orderly development of user-side energy storage. On the other hand, users can also receive corresponding economic subsidies through off-peak charging and peak discharging, effectively reducing corporate energy costs.
