On 23 December, the Jiangsu Huadian Guanyun 5MW/10MWh Vanadium Flow Battery Energy Storage Project, developed by Shanghai Electric Power Electronics, successfully passed grid acceptance. Featuring innovative zero-voltage start-up technology and advanced energy storage solutions, the project has officially commenced operation.

Key Features of the Project:

  • Advanced Energy Systems: Incorporates state-of-the-art non-walk-in liquid-cooled lithium iron phosphate and vanadium flow battery systems, supported by advanced step-up station infrastructure for efficient energy management.
  • Zero-Voltage Start-Up Innovation: This innovation features a revolutionary power conversion system (PCS) developed by Shanghai Electric Power Electronics, which includes proprietary energy storage inverters and DC-DC systems. This innovation overcomes traditional start-up challenges for vanadium flow batteries, enabling rapid voltage ramp-up from 0 to 900V.
  • Intelligent Energy Management: Employs advanced algorithms for optimized energy distribution and enhanced system responsiveness.
