On 29 June, at 10:26, the Jiangsu Huadian Guanyun 200 MW/400 MWh energy storage project was successfully connected to the grid, marking the official launch of the largest hybrid energy storage project in Jiangsu Province.

As one of the key projects of the "715 Power Supply Guarantee" in Jiangsu Province, this project is developed, constructed, and operated by Huadian Jiangsu Wangting Power Plant. It innovatively adopts a hybrid energy storage mode combining lithium iron phosphate energy storage and vanadium flow battery energy storage and is equipped with a 220kV/110kV booster station. The installed capacity is 200 MW/400 MWh, which can effectively improve the output of multiple energy storage and precise load control and improve the reliability and stability of the power supply for the power station.
To ensure the efficiency and quality of the project construction, Huadian Jiangsu Wangting Power Plant made advance plans and careful arrangements, worked closely with all participating companies, adhered to the time nodes, actively optimized the construction plan, and actively overcame various problems such as poor geological conditions and long supply cycles. After 100 days of main project construction, it achieved reverse power transmission and grid connection in one go, turning a beach fish pond into a new type of energy storage power station and running at the "accelerated" pace of Huadian Jiangsu's green and low-carbon transformation.
After the energy storage project is implemented, the charging and discharging capacity can reach 400 MWh each time, meeting the daily electricity demand of about 50,000 households. It can effectively alleviate the peak power supply pressure, promote the consumption of new energy electricity, and achieve peak shaving and valley filling. It will play a positive role in improving the power supply structure of the Jiangsu power grid, promoting the development of the energy storage industry and the efficient development and utilization of renewable energy. It will add impetus to the safe and stable peak summer season for the power grid and promote high-quality local economy and society development.
