The shared energy storage power station project in northern Guilin is settled in Xing’an, with a total investment of approximately 730 million yuan

Guangxi Daily, 2023-09-05

Recently, the shared energy storage power station project in northern Guilin, with a total investment of approximately 730 million yuan, was officially launched in Xing'an County. After the project is completed, it will effectively promote regional power grid peak shaving and filling, effectively alleviate the power supply voltage, and at the same time help Xing'an County build a clean, low-carbon, economically efficient, supply-demand coordinated, flexible and intelligent new power system, providing new energy industry clusters complement and strengthen the chain and extend the chain to inject new momentum.

This grid-side shared energy storage power station project has a construction scale of 184MW/373MWh. It consists of an energy storage system and a 220kV booster station. The energy storage consists of a lithium battery energy storage system, a vanadium flow energy storage system, and a small micro-grid system display area for innovative demonstration applications of various energy storage technologies. The energy storage system of this project can not only solve the problem of light abandonment in new energy power generation but also has the functions of smoothing power output, increasing peak shaving and frequency modulation response of energy storage power stations.

Xing'an County has the largest onshore electric field group in South China. The total installed capacity of centralized electric fields is about 3 million kilowatts. A total of 11 gas power projects have been developed in Yuanjiang, Tangjiachong, Pingling, Sheikeng, Diantang, Daoping, Shibanling, Yanguan and Jieyang, with more than 400 turbines and a cumulative annual power generation of approximately 1.456 billion Kilowatt-hours and online electricity consumption of 1.28 billion kilowatt-hours. In addition, the development and construction of the electric field will also empower the villages along the line in terms of industrial development, collective economy, and cultural development. In recent years, cultural tourism projects with the theme of wind power viewing have become popular in the local area, and the B&B economy has emerged.
