Polaris Energy Storage Network learned that, recently, the production base project of Wontai, with an annual output of 300MW vanadium redox flow battery energy storage equipment, located in Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, was put into operation.

It is reported that the total investment of the project is 600 million yuan. The whole industry chain project of the Wontai vanadium redox flow battery mainly constructs an annual production line for extracting 15000 tons of alum ore and an annual production line for producing 15000 tons of high-purity vanadium, as well as supporting facilities. It builds an annual output of 90,000 cubic meters of electrolyte production, research and development, leasing base and an annual output of 300MW vanadium battery energy storage equipment production project.

The project will also build a new 100,000-kilowatt wind power, and 10MW/50MWh, 100MW/500MWh vanadium redox flow battery energy storage power station project and supporting construction of the transmission line project.

After the project is completed, it will become the first vanadium redox flow battery energy storage industrial chain project in the country. It will fully develop and utilize local vanadium ore resources, drive the development of the energy storage industry chain, and make Jiuquan City the largest and most competitive vanadium redox flow battery energy storage industrial chain highland in the country. The project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 8 billion yuan, profits and taxes of 1.2 billion yuan, and employment of 800 people.
