Wontai Power has officially broken ground on its 100MW/600MWh vanadium flow battery integrated manufacturing project in Huan County, Qingyang, Gansu Province, China. The launch ceremony took place on 2 April, marking a major milestone in the company’s strategic development of long-duration energy storage solutions.

With a total investment of 400–500 million RMB, the project encompasses the construction of key facilities, including a battery materials warehouse, prefabrication workshop, stack assembly workshop, electrolyte preparation workshop, and an integrated battery testing center. Once operational, the facility will boast a production capacity of 100MW vanadium flow battery power modules and 600MWh of integrated storage products, with an anticipated annual output value of 1–1.2 billion RMB.

Vanadium flow batteries are known for their intrinsic safety, long-duration energy storage capability, and the independent scalability of power and capacity. Wontai’s proprietary vanadium flow battery technology further enhances these advantages with high safety, deep charge-discharge cycles, excellent environmental compatibility, and modular scalability suitable for large-scale, long-duration energy storage applications.

The launch of this project signifies a critical step in Wontai’s comprehensive industrial chain layout for vanadium flow technology in Gansu, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing China's energy storage sector.
