Yuanmou County has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art 500MW vanadium flow battery energy storage system integration production line. The launch event, held at the Yuanmou Green Industrial Park, was officiated by County Party Secretary Liu Wenyue, with County Mayor Wang Kaiguo presiding over the event. The ceremony was attended by key leaders from provincial and municipal departments, along with representatives from participating enterprises.

This landmark project, one of Chuxiong Prefecture’s major investment initiatives for 2024, represents the world’s most advanced vanadium flow battery energy storage system. Positioned to serve markets in Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, and Southeast Asia, the project is a joint venture by Yuanmou County Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd., V-Liquid Co., Ltd., Sichuan Zhenneng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Chuxiong Jinjiang Energy Group Co., Ltd. Together, these entities have formed Yunnan Jinweizhen Yuan Energy Storage Co., Ltd., which will oversee the development of an integrated vanadium flow energy storage industry base, covering power station construction, operations, and research & development. This initiative will significantly boost Yuanmou County’s renewable energy sector and accelerate its transition to a leading "green energy powerhouse."
With the production line now operational, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 25 billion yuan, generate 1.5 billion yuan in tax revenue, and create over 200 job opportunities, strengthening the local economy and employment landscape.
Yuanmou County boasts some of the best photovoltaic resources in Yunnan Province, with an average annual total solar radiation of 6,200 megajoules per square meter and an annual average of 2,590 sunshine hours, making it a prime location for renewable energy development. As of now, the county's total installed renewable energy capacity has reached 2 million kilowatts, and it is projected to grow to 3.252 million kilowatts by the end of 2025, with annual power generation exceeding 3 billion kWh and an estimated annual output value of 23 billion yuan.
As a pivotal step toward achieving sustainable development, Yuanmou County continues to embrace a path of greener, cleaner, and more eco-friendly energy solutions, solidifying its position as a leader in high-quality energy development.
